1955 Olds brakes upgrade

Hello everyone. I am looking at buying the disc brake conversion from Kanter. Has anyone had experience with this set up . I have a 1955 Olds 88 that I have restored but right now the engine is out and I thought that this would be the time to do a conversion.

I moved your thread to the Vintage section. Great group of guys who can point you in the right direction.

I believe there are some folks on here that have done this conversion but I am not one of them. It will require moving your master cylinder to the firewall.

55 olds brakes

Thanks redoldsman, I am not going to mount the Master on the fire wall, that's what I am concerned about.

Olds Dad has a thread on how to change the Tredal-Vac for a modern unit that is still under the floor boards. Give it a search it was on this forum..... Tedd

If you ever want to do factory A/C, don't put it on the firewall; that's where the evaporator goes.

Ted, thanks for your response. Olds dad did a great jot on his article. I just don't like the pedal arrangement and might look into see if his work can be refined a bit. Jim
