Pure Stock Musclecar Drag Race!

Pure Stock Musclecar Drag Race!
It's that time again - 150+ musclecars of all stripes - literally and figuratively! - racing down the 1320. What's so unusual about that? Think of it as a car show where they also race!
You'll get a little bit of everything, from the creme de la creme (Hemi'cudas and A12 Bees and Runners, W-Machines, Yenko Camaros, Ram Air IV Judges, LS6 Chevelles, L88 Vettes, Stage 1 Gran Sports, and Cobra Jet Blue Oval cars, among others) to Everyman's musclecar (383 Road Runners, 400/350 GTOs, 390 Torinos, and the like) and stuff you normally don't see (400hp Mercury from 1958 and supercharged Studebakers come to mind).

Just come as a spectator and you'll be happy. Come as a racer and you'll learn a lot about your car. But please come to the best car event of the year (yes, Woodward's lame in comparison!). . . and if you show up, please be sure to say hello to moi in the announcer's booth!

I'll be there, both days, camera in hand. Great cars, great event! One of my favorites was Casey Marks '70 W31 (since sold) F85 column shifted auto w/4:66's. Saw him turn a 12:85 during qualifying. Always a good showing of Oldsmobiles.

It's like the rules. They hit my car on most points ...
but I have '85 f-bird seats and as far as the mufflers, if we talking a 4 corner oval I'm cool....
What about tall spindles/ball joints ...

I took in the races yesterday!Very impressive...except for the colour blind announcer! (JUST KIDDING DIEGO!!) There was a handfull of Oldsmobiles present. Those supercharged Larks really hauled ***!(A white Lark was trailered in behind Nadine...a 59ish Chrysler Imperial.) (TOO COOL!!!)
I'm not sure what kind of "glue" they put down every 30 or 40 runs, but it seemed to do the trick as I saw very few cars fighting for traction.I still can't believe a pure stock street machine can run 11:90s, but I was there and saw it with my own eyes.Hopefuly Diego will post with a few of the cars' times and perhaps he can be persuaded to post a picture of his favourite coloured Buick!(It was quite possibly the most unusual colour I have ever seen on a car.)
All in all, my brother and I had good time and quite possibly may return next year!

Keep in mind that these cars can be to NHRA Stock specifications. The aquamarine Buick is rare, but I believe the same color was available on an Olds as Reef Turquoise. I will try to post photos (100 or so) as soon as I replace my card reader, my computer does not recognize it for some reason, though it did last week. Go figure.

In regards to the green Buick, it was a color available on Oldsmobiles. Attached is a photo of one.
