protect-o-plate question
Can someone give me a lesson on the Oldsmobile Protect-o-plate. I can see a vin and guessing date built but what is 00006 and 05-410 on the plate. This is a 1971 car. Thanks Lee

ddd777 this thread is almost 2 years old? Now that you are a member, you can start your own threads in any of the forums. Usually if you post a question about your POP, cowl tag or VIN someone can decode it for you. There ares tons of websites and literature out there that have some of the info you seek, but depending on the car and year model you may have to "combine" your efforts. Basically it's easier to just ask, unless you want to purchase literature for your application or be pointed in the right direction.
There is no one book or one website out there that has every answer for every application.

![Question](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
FYI, when i googled "zone dealer oldsmobile protect-o-plate" this thread came up first....so I figured this is where I would start....
The number I am investigating is 24-860
from some more peeking around here and here, the zone looks like it is Southern California (SF Looks like it is 23).
Thanks in advance for any clues on Oldsmobile dealer number 860.

dealer zone list on chevelles.com
860 missing from the list that is posted there as well :-(
http://firstgenfirebird.org/FAQ/docs/dealer_codes.txt
this pontiac list had a lot of good info - but again not 860 (might have been exclusively Oldsmobile...)
