Power Window Roller Replacement

Friends,

I purchased a set of 68-72 Power window regulators a long time ago for my 71 Cutlass Convertible. Now I’m at the point of trying to install them. After looking at the regulators I forgot one of the rollers was missing. After checking them all out I noticed there are two different size rollers on the front and rear regulators. Does anyone have the sizes or part numbers for the correct rollers needed? Does anyone make a kit to replace all worn rollers for the windows?

Thanks,

Fred

If you are looking to jury-rig the repair the wheel looks just like the roller on a cabinet drawer slide. KV1300 to be specific.

It would probably save you a lot of grief in the long run if you could replace the entire assembly.

I ordered mine from OPGI just make sure you get the right one from the measurement's from you old ones. They are really easy to replace, when you drill out the old ones just drill off the back side head and punch out the old stem so the hole stays the same. When you install the new one use a center punch to start the spread of the rivet then use a small ball peen to finish the install. All you need is for it to keep from spinning and stay straight tap it to much and it will destroy the buck tail.. Its okay if it splits.

AJ, thanks for the information. Where to I take the measurements for the replacement rollers? Do I use the roller itself or the hole for the rivet after I drive out the old one?

In the catalog it tells you what the dimensions are, just match to what you have. The hole in the arm for the rivet will be the same. Don't remove until you get the new ones to make sure they are right.
