So glad I discovered this site. I've met some great people, in person and online. Got priceless help because people were willing to spend their time and effort to read and respond to my requests.
This was a journey that started because of my father in law's love for Oldsmobiles and their preservation. I hope I have done well with the skills I have to work with and I am so glad that others here are (mostly ) nice and are willing to lend a hand.
Thanks to those of you that have reached out to me via PM and offered help and/or advice:
Magna86
BlackGold
Joesw31
Jensenracing77
JoePadavano
Oldspackrat
Wr1970
True-blue442
and there are probably a few others I have missed...but thank you all!!!! Also, a big thanks to those who never PM, but have stepped into my threads and contributed helpful info. If I hadn't ever become a member at ClassicOldsmobile, I would have missed out on so much. Glad to be a part of the family here, as novice as I am, I'm still accepted...and that says something about you guys.

That puts you in the top 160 or so post totals out of over 36,000 members.
Of course, over half of those 36,000 members have posted zero times. Another 4,000 or so members have exactly one post. Only about 1,000 members have posted over 100 times.

And a little under 5 percent of your total.

And for that stat, I present to you the Toyota/Olds/Yodabaker:

Note that those are 1960 Olds fins and taillights, turned 90 degrees. The bubbletop 61s were finless.

Thanks! Did you follow the link above to the Yoda car? Looks like someone had some "big plans" and followed through with it. Take a peek.

It took me a little longer to get to 1000 I think. I would guess that well over 50% of mine are from the for sale section though. Just remember that Oldsmobiles like to breed, After you have two of them you will find yourself with more of them.
Glad you found your way here to CO!

Price drop on that wagon. Now at $3450 on the Charlotte CL. Maybe he will take $1000 less than that???

It would look good with red tires too. Would fit my whole family and dog in there and a stroller in the trunk...so I can't say I'm totally against it. Couldn't garage it however and that would be the deal breaker.

Everyone is still learning, except Joe. How can you top perfection, unless someone else around here knows everything he does, plus knows about some super secret Oldsmobile prototype that Joe knows nothing about. But, I don't want to give him nightmares, so I should stop there.

Heck, I'm going for 2000 just in this thread alone. Thanks Brian. Glad to know you on here and maybe we'll meet up someday. And I will buy a beer...but will need to limit you to brands I recognize. None of those fancy imports. We like USA made only.

Ok, if I had to pick one today, it would probably be from a style that I remember when I was growing up. My brother had one of these, but in the coupe form, and this one seems like a good deal for the mileage and condition:

Have you ever drove one? I had a couple and love them. It is simply amazing how nice they ride and drive. I will likely have another someday at least for a while to enjoy.

At only 40k miles, how could you go wrong? I know the DOHC engines had their problems...but still...there is probably some time left on this one before it needs major work, especially if only used as a local weekend driver.

Hey Eric, yes I've driven them and loved them! I hated having to pony up at the gas station though, it was a thirsty beast. It's actually better riding than the Custom Cruisers, mostly because it has better interior and sound deadening. I also liked driving the Toro's before they downsized the engine to 403 and smaller. The hoods on these cars goes for miles....

Oddly enough I have only consumed about a case of beer over the past 10 years. Just kinda got away from it. So 1 bottle for me might equal a 6 pack for you. Heck, even could get drunk on NyQuil at this point, I imagine. At any rate, I'm mostly a Coors light man. So Coors light for everyone unless I hear otherwise.

Being from Canada, I would have never expected that. But then again, I didn't imagine you'd be into the Red Sled you posted above either. It's like what Santa uses when his sleigh breaks down. There's room for all the gifts in that thing.

We are a surprising people aren't we?
Strange how my Dad was never much into the big cars. His preference was the intermediates. Somehow I like both, but given a choice to buy full size? I took that every time, sort of. After 1982 the only Oldsmobiles I'd buy were Ninety Eights. I loved the way they drove and the elegance of the Brougham interiors. Last one I bought was a 1995 Regency Elite. The full size top ennd models just seemed to offer more and last longer with me.
Ho ho ho, whattaya want for Christmas? I might swing by in my red sled....
