Picked up another project car
Hi All
Well, I didn't need another project but my buddy Rick had this one for sale and we worked out a deal with a combination of cash and parts. This is a 1970 442 factory 4 speed car that's had a rough life. The engine and transmission are long gone and in their place is a 1969 455 and TH400. It came from the factory with Burgundy Mist exterior, white interior (buckets) and black vinyl top. The car has rust in the floorboards but probably just needs the front portions replaced and no doubt work around the front windshield. The paint is really ugly but much of that may come off with a high pressure washer. I've got another friend I been working on trying to get him interested in an Oldsmobile. That's plan A, if it doesn't work out I'll likely put in a period correct 455 and Muncie 4 speed, then sell it as a running/driving project car and let someone else take it from there. I've already got a 1970 442 factory 4 speed car that came Burgundy Mist with a black interior so I don't really need another one. But hey, they're toys and I'll be the first to admit it.

Yes, the stripe thing is kinda weird but who knows how many beers they had or what they'd been smoking when they came up with the idea![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Tags expired in 1988, I don't remember when Starsky and Hutch were driving the Tomato but this could have been from that era. Allan, several of the dead cars I've drug home had bias tires on them even though many were parked in the 1980's. I guess if it was a clunker in the '80s you ran whatever was the cheapest tire you could dig up!
If I do decide to flip it I'll give you guys here a shot at it first. Although shipping would add to the price significantly. It has power disc brakes, non-AC, console brackets but no console anymore then the vinyl top. My friend checked the rear end and I believe he came up with 3.23 open. So not a high optioned car. Rough but certainly worth saving.
I've arranged to buy interior parts from Scott, so he already knows about it. But I've also purchased a 1968 442 post car that I'll be bringing home in a couple weeks. Another 4 speed car that I'll likely do some work on and flip. Yes it is a fun hobby![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
