65 Disc brake conversion?

I am doing a disc brake conversion on an 18,000 mile f-85. The guy got the conversion kit from Inline Tube. They claim it is a complete kit but i am finding it is not. The bolt size on the steering arm and drum spindels are smaller than the disc brakes. The kit comes with the spindels but not the arms. Also does not come with the larger bolts to bolt the arm to the spindles or the banjo bolts to bolt the rubber lines to the calipers. The kit claims to work with existing brake lines but after working on it I find that the lines will not work and they have another line kit just for the disc conversion.

I quoted this job by what Inline Tube told me on the phone but I am going to miss this mark by several hundred now. I am so tired of wrong information, wrong parts and junk parts it make me want to quit turning wrenches. I just hope the guy will work with me and understand why I will need more money.

I bought a right stuff kit, I don't know what will be missing as I haven't put it in yet . they made it clear to redo all brake lines to fit the kit.
Can't remember I think the brake line kit was a extra 90-150 depending if you wanted stainless

Guess I should pop my boxes open again and make sure hard wear is in there

I believe that at the minimum, the front brake lines need to be replaced due to the higher pressure. The main issue with converting to factory style disc brakes are the spindles are grinded down a bit more for the rotors to be placed. IMHO, if the spindles are not bolting up correct, then there is something wrong with them.

The spindles are ok. It is just that the arm that attaches to them have a smaller bolt hole in them. I have to replace the steering arms and the kit did not come with them or the bolts.

I've always used factory parts from the 68-72 vintage. Yes I needed to rebuild the calipers and buy new rubber hoses, but if I get the complete setup I know it will fit.

And I can relate to your venting. Several times over the years after a particularly frustrating repair project I've threatened to give all my tools away and stop playing mechanic

This is why I always recommend ECI for disc brake conversions, I bought there kit and it fits as advertised and works as advertised, the entire kit is a bolt on but you must make 2 brake lines.

This job sucked. I have now figured out part of why I have had so much trouble. Mostly bad information from inline tube and the fact that I got some of the parts for the wrong year. The guy that I am doing the job for got the parts so I don't know if he ordered the wrong parts or if inline tube supplied the wrong parts. I have had all but one order from inline tube that had the wrong parts in it so I would expect that it was an inline tube problem also. Not to mention, why would a guy wanting a disc brake conversion for a 65 order them for a 67, I don't think this guy made the mistake. After WAY to many hours in this mess I will no longer do a job for someone where they supply the parts.
It don't help that what Inline Tube told me was simply NOT true. I like many of there products but they have major room for improvement everywhere else.

What was the difference between 65/67. Just the steering arm?

Steering arms and bolts, back brake line, and distribution block.
