Pass side mirror

Does anyone have a passenger side mirror that was Original dealer installation? Please post a picture if you can. What aftermarket best matches what would be original dealer installed?
Thanks

The original mirrors are reproduced.

Here's a couple of shots of a Fusick repro passenger side mirror installed. Note they only were available in the standard side mirror. The remote driver side mirror does not have a matching mate.
It would be very possible for a '68-'69 A-body to come from the assembly plant with the remote side mirror option and have a dealer-installed non-remote passenger side mirror installed. The passenger side mirror was not an option in those days...it only came as a dealer-installed accessory item.

It comes in the dealer installed package. A NOS 69 dealer accessory would have it.

When I installed mine, I used the same mounting position on the passenger door as was already on the driver door. The passenger side mirror gives me the same viewing area on the passenger side as the driver side mirror does on the driver side. I don't believe the side mirrors of those years give as good a view as modern day side mirrors, but something is better than nothing!

Great information. The mounting holes for the passenger mirror obviously don't exist on the 1969 right side doors. I have a reproduction mirror like the one you installed. I planned on just drilling the smaller holes that will accommodate the stud portion of the mirror mounting hardware versus the keyhole style openings that allow the mirror to be removed and installed without door disassembly. Is there any additional reinforcing required for the inside of the door to prevent distortion when tightening down the mirror fasteners? I also noticed that the gasket for the mirror seems to be larger than the base of the mirror itself. Possibly it will conform to the curve in the door sheet metal and seal properly. Time will tell.

Great photos. I also plan on placing the mirror in the same position as the remote one on the driver's door. Any rear vision on the right side is better than what I have now.

Thanks,

TR

The keyed area under the mirror engages with the gasket, not the door skin.
Here is what I believe to be an original 68 passenger side mirror. I pulled it off a 68 Cutlass in 85 in a yard, (the pitted one in my hand). The 68 and 69 passenger mirrors are the same mirror...68-70 88s and 98s same mirror as well.
All you need is two holes for the allen heads. No backer. The casting acts as its own support as they are flush with the bottom surface. The gasket should extend beyond the mirror base. If you bought the right mirror it should fit.
Fusick PN: SM6865R. That's the one I just installed on the Red 442 below.
