Parts Place Bumper

So I just received a PP rear bumper for my 69 442, and I'm very happy with it. It's hard to find any flaws in it, it's heavy, nice shine, came in a thick box with cushions wedged in the corners. I guess I'm happy because I was expecting less. I know it's not your 100 point show bumper, but I think this will pass most local shows. Anyway just figured I'd post for anybody that may be interested in purchasing so you be the judge.

Lets us know how it fits and looks after install, thinking of buying a 70 bumper from tamraz, heard they do-good work. As we all know factory bumpers chrome job was a long way away from show chrome..

Tamraz and Parts Place sell many of the same parts as do the other vendors.

I picked up a rear bumper 2 years ago for my '71 from Tamraz. I have no problem with the look and the fitment was almost perfect. Nothing a jack and a piece of 4x4 couldn't adjust. I admit that the chrome is probably not as high quality as taking your original to a chrome shop and having it done. But alot of us don't have a chromer anywhere close and for a 1/3 the cost (plus free shipping at the time), it's looks great and is perfect for local shows and cruises.

I think I will go that route as well, my car isn’t ever going to be a points judged car as I simply don’t want to put 100k in a car and then its to pristine to drive.. To each there own, I plan to use a blend of new old stock, used and quality repro parts as I have in the past.

Always remember factory chrome is not show chrome to shiny deduct points
Go all the way paint must have orange peel or be lacquer base
Remember there is no perfect car just hobbyist restoring them to very high levels
Just my opinion
This is not written to offend anybody

I agree with Andy and Alain. When I get around to installing the replacement rear bumper, I'll report on the fitment.

Figured I'd report back on the bumper. I'm very happy with the fitment and overall quality of the bumper from The Parts Place.

I bought my 70 rear bumper from Oldsparts.com. They claim triple plating, its okay at best..you can see-sand marks going every which way, chrome is ok. Not very impressed but what ya want for 380.00
