Do W31 have a stripe along the bottom of truck I know 442 do, I've seem them both ways

 

The Product Information Manual (I'm looking at 1970) section 1-4 page 156 shows the layout for the deck lid stripes and lists the application as "4400 series except 35Y74." The 4400 series is the 442. In other words, no, the W-31 (and the other Cutlasses) did not get a decklid stripe.

 

Right. More specifically section 0 page 16 (referred to on 1-4 page 156) charts the stripe usage.
Nit-picking here, but 1-4 page 156 is not technically the layout for the stripe. The layout (as called out on both the aforementioned pages) is print 405623.
