Order of install on dash ( 71 Cutlass )
Order of install on dash ( 71 Cutlass )
So I bought somebodys unfinished Project. I Have the car in my buddy's Paint booth hoping he will spray it white tommarow. I am installing Vintage Air so I guess I will start with it. What is the best order to assemble the rest of the dash in? I guess I will put the dash plastic section to the Dash Pad? Add the switches, A/C control, Radio, Etc??? Should I attach any of the wiring to the dash pad assembly? The Gauges and steering collum go in last?
Please help with a Order of assembly if you can. Thanks

This was my experience and I found there is no real easy way to do this. Once you mount the evaporator, you can install the dash pad with the plastic portion attached. The vent tubes will have to be routed to the end vents, and then to the defrost vents and the center dash vents. Getting in there to attach tubing to the vents is not the easiest depending on how flexible your hands are. Some you will get to by reaching in through the opening where the gauges and glove box go, others you may have to lay on your back and reach up from the bottom. The gauges definitely would go in last. My steering wheel was off too which helps moving around there.
