Well I will just have to make do with the Edelbrock Performer RPM for EFI. As soon as I finish polishing it I can send it off to have the bungs welded on and drilled out and the fuel rails added. I just recieved my Injectors, and already have the Throttlebody and ECU.

My intake says "Olds 455" and I believe it is from 1971.

If I remember right , back in the early 80's my old Vista 455 had an Edelbrock Tarantula intake . Does anyone remember that one?

How about something for the older crowd. A very hard to find Horne intake for a 303-324 Olds engine.

You're not the first to dislike my avatar, sorry lol.
The skinny: Those are Barry Grant Six-Shooter Demons. Original 1966 Tri-Carb intake with the center dividers cut down and Rochester to Holley adapter plates. I had a Edelbrock progressive linkage from a dual 4bbl set up on it originally but switched to a Lokar one because I like the look better. Just cleaner lines. The air cleaners are from Rush, polished cast aluminum with a K&N type element. Eventually the intake will be Extrude-Honed for more flow for when it goes on the 500ci BBO. RobbMc thermostat housing (highly modified to fit due to the size of the carbs)
I've loved Tri-Carbs from the first time I took a ride in one.

Funny that you should post this now, Pete. I just bought one of these yesterday. I've always preferred the E-brock 065 to the open plenum single plane Offy dual quad intakes. It's a much better street manifold. I had one of the 065s on a 455 back in the mid-1980s. With a pair of 500 CFM Carters and progressive linkage, it got mid-teens mileage and had great driveability. Unfortunately, that car went away in the first divorce...

In any event, I had been looking for a replacement for years and finally scored one that wasn't made of solid gold.

Hey Joe, i bought this thinking i was going to put in on my 64. I bought it at a very good price so i couldnt pass it up. There are lots of good deals out there but it takes time and patience to find them. Its been repaired but nothing that prevents it from being used.

I was thinking about having some fun with it. I was going to grind off the logos and drop in fake Olds Experimental casting into it. Maybe fill some obvious signs that it was in 065. Im sure that would have stirred up the troops. Wouldnt not have been as sexy as your dual quad though.

I decided to take another direction on the 64. Stay tuned for more pics

Someday i hope the parts in the barn will be as good as yours.

This is a Performer intake that I've bolted on for the time being while I get some of the bugs worked out of this car.
2011-06-22201508.jpg
This is the Torker that I took off of it looking for a vac leak. It has been cut to compensate for the heads and block being milled, but apparently it was cut too far. So now it's nothing more than wall art.

Great thread. That Marcella intake is a work of art. I have three intakes I will be testing as soon as I get out to the track.

The SBO weber manifold is just amazing...i'd have to get a glass panel put on the hood, just so I could look at those 8 webers lazily and whenever I wanted.
Here's mine (common as dirt):

Off topic, but you guys seem to have lots of intake experience...anybody ever see a stock '70 455 intake with a crack? My toronado acts like it has a vaccum leak (poor idle, eye burning exhaust, 13 inch vac, etc), carb, vac lines, timing all dbl checked and correct. The car had a 90% blocked muffler when I bought it, new muffler opened it up, but something still not quite right...
Thanks,

"Ersatz" ?! Wow I had to look that one up. Sounds perfect.

Note the lack of hyphen in "W 455", the cyl #'s on nailed raised pads (just like the "H" tri-carb 1967 unit above), etc.
