Ok how about the thread about all of the intakes made for Oldsmobile smallblock and big block engines. Let's see pics of intakes from the most common to rare and maybe even one off intakes. It might let some of us know everything that is out there. Any info about the intakes should be posted as well.
Thanx that is exactly the type of post I am looking for. I have that Edelbrock and am currently in the process of taking down the sand cast finish to polish it up and then send it off to be converted for EFI.
Edelbrock is supposed to have an RPM air gap manifold for the 455 catalog #7551 produced by end of February or the first of March. Its show in their new products catalog. Waiting to se the performance numbers on it. They already make one for the 350.
Jensenracing77,
That is a very nice looking W-31 intake,WoW! looks like new
Boldsmobile,
That dual quad Offy looks great, very cool manifold!
That polished hi rise tunnel ram single quad is an item of beauty! Very, very nice! What brand is that?

i know, to bad it is completely junk. it had a very small crack in the heat riser, i had it welded and was going to grind it down with a dremel but decided to take it to a shop and have them surface it correctly. i told them to only take the weld off and not to touch it any farther. they done it free hand on a belt sander . they took off almost 1/4 in of material between the two sides and not even close to square. i only wanted the weld taken off and it was only on one side.
I love that tunnel ram. is that for the SBO's? I have been looking for something like that for the wife's wagon. She has the shotgun blower scoop and a tall intake to get it out of the hood would be better than using a spacer like we were. We have been looking for a cheap dual quad because the scoop would look better with dual carbs. There were two on craigslist with carbs and I should have bought them and didn't like a dummy. I have 2 of the standard Edelbrock Performers and now with the recent buy 2 Edelbrock Performer RPM's as well as a Holley Street Dominator. Keep the pics and any performance info coming people. There has to be more thanjust these intake right people?
bet that cost a little more then an arm and a leg. What a work of art
Yes I would love to have one too. But it's beyond my means. That started as a $700 intake () before it was cut, rewelded, polished and ported. Not necessarily in that order.

Here's a dual quad setup I got on a 1965 F85 I recently purchase. The previous owner "cut" the hood inner liner and some of the mounting studs off the hood spear to clear the air cleaners. This set up is for sale and I'd like to get $400 plus shipping for it complete. I plan to clean up the intake and post it under the parts for sale section. This is a single plane manifold with one large open plenium and is not considered the most efficient design. But the previous owner says he got the 1/4 mile time down to 13 seconds with it.

I got lucky with the dual quad. It was a craigslist find. I mean really lucky. I got it for a great price and its nice eye candy. The lady i bought it from said it belonged to her late husband and he never installed it. I hope my wife doesnt do the same !
The tunnel ram was another lucky find at a local swap meet. Guy had it on a boat he no longer owned. Evidently there were not too many Olds guys at this swap meet and with lack of interest i was able to negotiate a nice price. It was polished but dirty when i bought it and took a couple of hours to clean it up. They do sell the dual carb top for it. Its also an Offy.
Stickman i dont believe Offy ever offered a SB tunnel ram. I see dq SB intakes pretty often and will drop you a PM next time i come across one.
If you guys are in the market all i can say is patience and shake the trees, they are out there. I bought these at lets say ~1/4 the price of what they are new. There are deals out there. I also got a sweet set of M/T valve covers that still have the Olds logo in the breather area. Maybe we should also have a VC thread
J 398662 '68-'69 400/455 4V All including W-30 and 68 H/O. Except Toro, 69 H/O. Iron. K 398664 '68-'69 455 Toronado.
The 1968-9 "J" 4V intakes used a carb whose choke coil was 'divorced' or mounted in a cavity (sort of a divot) in the intake, rather than the round black choke coil mounted on the carb as later applications used. A divorced choke is a recess in the intake on the passenger side of the intake.
This choke has a sort of squarely bent metal covering. This remote choke coil is VERY expensive, about $75, so unless you need it for originality or can work your choke some other way [later model, hand, electric...] you might want to avoid USING that manifold. It still makes a nice way to identify a 1968 to 1969 Olds engine. As long as its choke coil still works, no problem. (Thanks to OLDS FAQ for this info.)
Joe, you finally answered the question I've had since I've been on this site, what the heck the intake in your sig pic is.Very cool stuff, thanks for sharing, now I can sleep at night
Here are a few more. I don't own these, but I've been collecting photos.
First is an SBO version of the factory experimental Webber intake
That same intake was configured with fuel injectors as well. These bolt to the normal Webber pattern.
Here is a factory experimental TBI intake for the 307
And finally, a pair of factory experimental aluminum 4bbl intakes. Note the blockoff plates for the crossover, as found on the L69 Tri-Carb. Also note the pocket for the divorced choke.
