Is it Oldsmobile blasphemy . . .

Did anybody look at the Barrett-Jackson Catalog riding along with the new Hemmings?
One of the items for sale is a Camaro front end turned into a desk.
I have been thinking of doing something similar for a while, using Oldsmobile pieces of course.
I know people sell booths or couches shaped like the backs of 57 Chev's and other cars. I haven't seen anyone do it with an Olds.
I was thinking maybe a 57 Grill as a piece of wall art, or maybe as part of the base for a glass topped bar. Problem is, I don't ant to waste parts someone might need for their resto.
Anyone seen someone make furniture or art out of their Oldsmobile pieces?

Their is actually an article about this in the Jan. 09 edition of Car and Driver. Their is one cedar chest topped with a 1950 Olds hood. There is also a crankshaft lamp, a Corvette desk, a blown engine table, and a few other things.

I did a post awhile back about an Oldsmobile SS wheel table I made. I thought it was pretty cool.

I have seen couches made out of the rear end of a Cadillac and a Ford. The problem woud be that they weigh so much. I guess I could get one into my living room since I have double rear doors. I just don't think I could convince my wife.

Olds64, I respect you man, but please tell me that isn't just a wheel on your floor with a piece of glass on it. There's more to it than that right?

I don't think my wife would want any car sourced furniture in the house either. Might be able to pull off a bar in the basement, but who knows.

Norm, that is one sweet coffee table and wine rack.

Olds 64, ever try making a taller table, like a pub table similar to yours??

Not mine.

The image has been floating around the Net for several years. It caught my attention, because it's a 215 Buick/Pontiac.

Do you dust it or oil it?

The table is about 3 feet tall. It is perfect for beer or popcorn when I am sitting in my Lazy Boy. I admit the picture is pretty bad, if you look closely you can see two of the table legs below the wheel. The wheel is bolted to a table that I cut down to fit inside the bolt circle.

Cool ideas. I don't think it is blasphemy, just smart.
