Big block 422 oldsmobile motor or 455 oldsmobile motor wanted!!!!!!

Can you give us more information, where are you located? What do you want, a core or a complete running motor? What does your budget allow?
Several people on this board can probably provide you with what you need, I have a 455 F block and a 425 D block ,39 degree .921 lifter motor from a 66 toronado, but I live in Washingtion State and shipping might be prohibitive, depending on where you live.

I saw this quote & wondered, how many 442s were 455 powered?
330 cu.in. 4bbl ~ 2,999 ('64 442s all)
400 cu.in. 3x2bbl & 4bbl ~ 138,309 ('65-'69 442s all)
455 cu.in. 4bbl ~ 26,919 ('70-'71 442s all)
After '71 the 455 became an OPTION, anyone have production numbers for 455s installed in 442s after the '71 model year?

(By the way, in 1968 you could also get the 400 2bbl 290 HP motor in the 442)

What may also wish to consider a 425 CID Olds engine, similar to a 455.
Either way, try to get a TORONADO engine, the best of the best, typically. Unless you happen to stumble across a $500 W30 engine.
I understand the desire for the torque of a big engine but are you aware that the small block in W31 trim can run right with the big guys? If you are working on a factory SB car, it would be a LOT easier to convert from say 307 to 350 or 403. If you are putting a BB into a BB car or redoing everything from a V6 car then your $500 budget is probably going to finance a core to rebuild, at best, these days.
