I am 57.

I learned to drive in my Dad's1960 Fairlane.
My first car, in 1969, was a 1954 Hillman Californian, it took 30 minutes to get to 60mph and then the engine went pop, I then took it back to the dealer and got my money back.
In 1978 one of my wedding cars was my Dad's '67 Cutlass.
Current cars, '72 W30 4 speed, '70 Chevelle LS6 4 speed and a '70 Buick GS455.

John.

I am 56, my dad and grandfather were both GM Salesmen then GM dealers. I drove everything on the lot but I would move the 98's, 88's, Electra 225's and Rivs to drive the old family pickup truck. The first car I bought new was a 1975 Buick Skyhawk for $2400.

I am 26.

My dad was big time into 68-70 GTOs. My first car (age 15) was a restored 68 Lemans, but stupid me, wanted a 4x4 so I got a 91 S10 Blazer and dad sold the lemans.

Now I have a 69 Cutlass S in the body shop, a 68 442 Post car laying in pieces in my garage, and 2 68 Cutlass Supremes.

My daughters first car was, or could have been a 72 cutlass that I had painted. That car was nice, but she turned it down and drove a Buick we had instead. I have heard her say that she had her regrets on that choice.
I was born in Maryville Mo, is that close to you?

The Lemans had just came back from the body shop and we had started installing the interior when I found the blazer. The Lemans was verdero green with an ivy gold interior. We had a GTO hood on it instead of the flat hood, sharp looking car, even had working AC and AM/FM radio...but I got my 91 blazer with 21xxxx miles instead!

First car was a 71 AMC Matador,

Got my 69 Cutlass "S" in 1988 for 200 bucks, it's been repainted once and restored once.

Currently living in Japan and driving a RAV 4 for my daily driver. I would LOVE to get my car over here but right now it looks like it would cost me about 10 grand to get it here and get it legal.

Got my 56 Olds in 1978 . The car has been repainted twice since I bought it. 82,000 miles and going strong. Nothing major has been done to engine. Fun car to drive.

I'm 43. Purchased my first Oldsmobile after my Dad passed away. It was his car and I am now fixing it up even more than he had already done. My first experience with Oldsmobiles? My parents bought a brand new 1977 CS off the lot in Topeka.

SeaFive,

I would give my left ******** to have that 1964 Palomar Red with a white interior, Muncie 4 speed, 4:11 posi with the dual quad 425 hp 409 now. Saw one on the internet for the low price of 64,OOO, other than being Roman Red ,was a dead ringer for my high school car. I would probably trade my convertible if I could find one that was identical.

67 Cutlass Town Sedan
My Dad was GM loyal, but more dedicated to Olds than Chevy. So my string of Olds's goes like this
67 Cutlass Town Sedan
72 Cutlass S - model 87 Red/black interior
72 Cutlass S - my baby I still have
78 Cutlass Calais (the Oldsrolet or Chevmobile - 305 Chev 4bbl from factory)
81 Omega Brougham 4 door (white/claret interior)
82 Cutlass Supreme (Dove grey c/w T tops and that crappy 267 V8)
83 Regency Brougham 4 door sedan (maroon luxo barge with the screamin power of a 307 and 200R4)
85 Calais Brougham 2 door (tech 4 , 5 speed) nice little touring car
83 Regency Brougham (white/blue interior - drove it until gas got to the ungodly price of 62 cents/litre (2.35/US gal)
1995 Regency Elite (I called it Project Agony)

I will be 57 in about 2 months. My first car was a 54 Chevy BelAir 2dr sedan. Dad helped me pull out the 6 and put in a built 283,3spd. First Olds was a 64 Dynamic 88 I paid $75 for and drove the dickens out of it. I started working for an Olds dealer in 78 and since then have owned 15 more Olds plus numerous Chevies, Pontiacs, Buicks and some other "off brands". Currently have a 2000 S10, 92 Ciera and a 1986 442.

44 years old

My brother and I helped ruin our mom's 1982 Cutlass Supreme when when we were teenagers. Around that same time a kid at high school was picked up by his dad one day in a gold '70 convertible 442. It looked and sounded wicked - I had to own one someday.

Closest I've gotten is to own a gold '70 Cutlass SX convertible. I also have an astro blue '70 Cutlass convertible.

I'm 62. My first car was a 1966 Galaxie 500. My first new car and first Olds was a 1970 Cutlass. That was followd by a 1976 Vista Cruiser, 1978 Delta 88 Royale, and a 1984 Cutlass Ciera that spent 5 years with us cruising all over Europe while stationed in Germany.

My daughter bought a 1968 Cutlass S to restore about a year and a half ago that got the fire lit again. So I found a 1970 442 that was calling my name this past January and it shares the same garage with her '68.

I'm 34, 2 months from 35.

My first Olds can be seen in my avatar and profile. The black '76 Ninety Eight Regency I still own. I first drove it at 15, damn that's almost 20 years already!

Current cars:

'76 Ninety Eight Regency Coupe - Black (Frame-off)
'76 Ninety Eight Regency Coupe - Burgundy
'02 Accord EX Coupe - Daily Driver
'08 Saturn Vue - Wife's car but it hauls Oldsmobile parts quite nicely

63, and currently own 3 Chevy trucks - no Oldsmobiles!
Currently working on a '71 442, triple black and the most heavily optioned 442 I've ever seen!
I've owned a '69 442 coupe, a/c, buckets, 3:42 gear, and a '65 Jetstar I with a dealer installed 4:33 rear 'towing package', which I spent a lot of time on.
Restored [mechanically] 2 '65 442's - 1 still in progress, let alone the probably 50+ Oldsmobiles I've worked on over the years.
Was a partsman, service writer, body shop manager for 8 different GM dealers - all gone now! [including NicKey Chevrolet in Chicago - late '60's]
Also, while a machinist at Opel Engineering when in Elk Grove, Il., did all the headwork for 1 1/2 years, including match porting, bowl work, etc.
Stick around because it's one of the friendliest sites I've been on, and learn something everyday!

yes an olds junk yard, but none of these are junk they are all 100% complete except for the 69 some guy had it and was going to turn it into a demolition derby car luckly i got it from him before that happened but its pretty much just a body and bumpers, no interior, glass, tranny or engine. the 71 cutlass is running has a 403, a/c car with disk brakes and bench seat. the 72 runs has a 76 455 with j-heads, a/c car, disk brakes bench seat. the 72 supreme is numbers matching u code car,455, disk brakes, his and her shifter, posi. hasn't been licensed sense 1978. he spun a rod bearing then just parked it ( bought it from original owner last year didn't even know what a U car was). the 70 442 non a/c car. disk brakes bucket seats, E-headed 455(project needs put together) the 70 ralley started a full restoration on it everything is rebuilt in primer needs painted. 72 olds 442 started this year non a/c, disk brakes. 455 c-heads buckets. be on the road after winter.

Dad was into VW's. He had a 68 bug. When I was 13 or so, he bought a pair of VW's . A 64 bug, and a 70 Ghia. The bug was for himself, the ghia for me. By my senior year, the ghia was going no where, so I bought a 70 TIII squareback with my own money. By graduation, I still didn't have the money to work on either one. When I got out of college, the ghia got sold, and I hauled the squareback to the junkyard for $10. What was I thinking? In my mid 20's, I wanted a chebelle to work on and use as a daily driver. Thats when I looked at a 69 Cutlass instead, and became hooked. After researching, I decided my favorite Olds was a 70 442. I started looking for a decent 442 to use as a daily driver. About that time, my dad bought a 75 coupe d'ville to use as a donor engine. So, I started driving the CDV and forgot about looking for an Olds. Then, in 2005, I stumbled across my "barn find". 70 442 W-30. 7 months later, it ended up in my garage. Impatient to drive a 442, I bought a 68 (my other favorite year), to drive while I restored the 70. Soon my attention focused on rebuilding the 68 instead of the 70. Job changes, out of state moves, etc, and the 70 was put on hold. Fast forward.... One year ago I sold the 68 442 and burnt out on the $$$ and time involved with these cars, I lost motivation to work on the 70.

Lately, that spark is back to get my 70 on the road. Over the last year, I've decided many times to sell the 70 and the hell with old cars... Knowing I would regret that forever has kept me from doing it. The price tag of "doing it right" also keeps me from getting anything done. I just simply don't know where I can come up with another $20k+ to have a museum piece sitting in my garage.

I'm 53 and my first Olds was a 1971 Cutlass S I purchased in 1983ish. I bought it because it was what I could afford at the time. Then I found the carcass of a 1970 Rallye 350 in the blackberry vines. I purchased that and drug it home not knowing what it was... but it was shaped like my Cutlass and it looked really cool That's when I was bit by the bug!

I'm pleased that there's so many owners under the age of 40. When I was at the Nationals in Reno I believe more than 9 out of 10 people I saw were my age or older. Maybe it's the middle aged guys who've got their careers far enough along to afford the toys and be able to take time off to make the trip. Whatever the reason, I'm glad there's a lot of young guys into these cars.

I can take the time off i just cant afford the gas to drive all the way up there LOL.

But i know exactly what you are talking about, in the olds club here in SA its like me and one other who show up to the meetings under 30 and i think there may be like 2 other members that i have met. Hate to say it but Olds is a dying breed which is stoopid as all get out cause there freaking AMAZING!!!!!
