Use to have a 65 Chev Bel Air, 6 3 on the tree real basic . Had a BBC planned for it but sold it 1st. Whats my point ? Glad you asked . Is there a similar model Olds ? Big car stripper like Chevy's Bel Air ?

Actually the Biscayne was more plain Jane than the Belair.

The Belair was the top of the line until the 58 Impala was introduced.

To answer your question, I don't believed Olds stooped to those levels of austerity.[nor, if memory seaves me correctly, did Pontiac, or Buick] However, Ford certainly did

 

I am not sure about the 50s but in the 70s the Olds Omega or F85 was pretty plain jane. Oldsguy had a 76 F 85 that was about as bare bones as possible.

I believe he's asking about B platform Cars like Belair/Biscayne of the mid/late 60's. [ Olds used both B's for 88 and C's were for 98's]

I don't recall Olds making a full sized stripped down car, But then again, Yesterday is but a distant bluuuuuur.

I just remember those old 65+ Belair/Biscaynes 6 cylinders w/ the plastic seats. w/ 3 on the tree and maybe and a/m radio and a heater and that was it.They also had one less tail lights during much of the 60's.

Oldguy, I don't think these youngsters know what an austere car really is. I mean we're talking so bland you could tie a pork roast to bumper and a dog would bite them.

Olds didn't build full-size 2-door sedans from 1962-76, though strangely enough Pontiac built them thru 68 in Catalina series.

Your best bet for a low-option big Olds will be a 64-66 Jetstar 88 Holiday Coupe. Maybe a 65-66 Dynamic. You won't find any six-cylinders in them though, and rarely to never a manual transmission.

Dynamics came with 425's and are already set up for bigblocks as far as suspension and brakes. J-88s had 330s and light duty underpinnings.

No problem Jamesbo. I haven't ever seen a bare bones Olds B body either. Like you said earlier, Olds never stooped that low.

 

The 64-66 Jetstar 88 and 67-68 Delmont 88 were the bottom of the line Olds B-body cars. That's the closest you'll come to a stripper full size. Olds did not use the six cylinder in the B-body cars in the the 1960s.
