Question HURST SHIFTER I.D.

I have a Hurst dual gate shifter that I am not sure about vintage and usage. I bought it thinking it could replace my 70-72 for my 442 and although there a lot of similarities there are some differences also. Anybody know what year this shifter fits and what model? Maybe 68 or 69 or Pontiac? The biggest difference is the top plate which is shorter and configured slightly different. There are two shifters in the pictures: The one with the cable and brackets is for 70-72 the other is in really nice condition but I don't know it's application.

It's definitely not Pontiac. The Poncho dual gate shifters used a straight stick instead of the "boomerang" stick on the Olds shifters. While I'm not 100% sure, I'm going to say that what you have is one of the aftermarket Dual Gate shifters. Hurst sold these with small vacuum-molded plastic covers for generic use. They also sold a version with a trim plate designed to fit into the factory console of a second-gen F-body.
