OK, So Who Bought It? Rochester, NY CL

Yesterday (Sunday Nov 10th) there was a dark brown 69 442 convertible listed on Rochester NY Craigslist for all of about a half hour.

The price......$2500

Owner described it as needing restoration. It looked complete and said it had the matching 400 and Turbo 400. I seriously doubt it was a scam

droldsmorland, gearhead1218 ????

Who got it?

Wasn't me Mike. My money tree is empty and drying out as we speak.
Besides, when that tree FINALLY comes back to life, I think I want a Vista.

I don't have the money either John. I called my wife's uncle who just retired and is looking for something to do. He was all for it. I went back and looked after talking to him, about a half hour later, and it was gone.

That car is only $60,000.00 away from being a $50,000.00 car.

I can' believe the guy isn't parting it out. That's what I was going to do with it. I guess at least this way when someone buys it for $4-5k they'll feel too bad about spending that much money to part it out

It has the 1969 Rally sport wheel, on a floor shift tilt column. I can't see it in the photos, but he says it has a thermometer mounted near the drivers door mirror. Plus the more common options that are in demand. Yeah, even rusty he'll probably make some money flipping this one and whoever buys it can part it out if its too far gone to fix.

Cool! I've only seen this option once on this vintage and once on a 1977 Olds 98, that one was built into the mirror base.

I have tried to get a look at it. Havent been able to hook up with him yet. If the frame, dash and floors are there I might bite.

If one only had a California cutlass S convert it would be a good car to re-body. With the Lan vin you could make one real nice W30 clone.
