OCA question/help?

When I was 15 years old my dad started a membership for me because I took an interest in Oldsmobiles. He got it in his name because it was easier but all this time it was for me and I have keeped the membership up to date all these years since I was about 18. Is there a way to change it from his name to mine so I can keep the long term membership? I am signing up the W-30 for the nationals but with the membership still in my dads name I don't want to get another membership in my name just to enter the car. Last time I just entered the Jetfire under my dads name like the membership is in but rather not do that this time. The membership is due in 2 months.

Somebody here said they could help with this several years ago but I never did do it.

I would suggest sending your zone director an email.... they are all listed in the front of JWO and should be able to assist you or put you in contact with the right individual.... Good luck, I wouldn't want to have to give up all those years of longevity.....

You need to contact Shar Pearson. She's Membershp Coordinator and her contact info should be in JWO.

I'm still waiting on my 30 year jacket. Apparently someone there is convinced I haven't been #10983 continuously since October 1983. I probably have all 32 yrs worth of JWOs but cancelled checks get shredded after 7 years. At this point in time, I dont really care anymore. I know what I did for that organization.

Just a comment, am waiting for my jacket too.... they sent my 35 year pin last year and said someone would be contacting me about a jacket... if they dont hurry they will owe me a 40 year package as well!

Oca membership

Hi, I've been a member with the oca since 1978. How do you go about getting a pin or a jacket. I too have every issue of the news letter since I've joined. Running out of room to store them!

Check your JWO and there is usually info about long term membership. You have to document your join date.... proove it.

Because they have no membership records? From all I have seen/read/heard/experienced it seems like a very unorganized club.

uninterrupted eh?

oh well

can you pay off the missing time and make 'em happy?

They didn't seem to care that my membership lapsed, and did little or nothing to support me when I needed it, so... I no longer need to be scanning each new LATE OLD AS HELL printed ad for what parts I might need... I know almost every technical detail.... came to the point where the ceremony had continued long after I was done with the session.

I dumped my membership this year after 20+ years or so. I'm tired of the drama. If I want to go to the Nats, I'll just pay for the year. They have WAY too much money for my taste. They give a pitiful amount to the Olds museum. I can buy my own jacket with the $ from 2-3 years dues!!!
