OCA 2020 Oldsmobile Nationals

Does anyone know the host hotel for the 2020 OCA Nationals? I'd heard it was in Murfreesboro. The July JWO calls it "Nashville" and says its an "all suites" hotel and has "theater style seating for the awards", but never says the name.

I think that's deliberate on the part of the OCA. They don't want people calling the hotel to make reservations because the OCA rate won't be in effect until the conclusion of the 2019 nationals. I think I've read that representatives of the 2020 host hotel will be at the Wichita meet, and you can start making reservations right there if you're attending.

The host hotel is the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, TN. The overflow hotel is the Courtyard by Marriott next door. Dates are July 28-Aug 2, 2020.

Sorry, that's JULY 28, not June. DOH!

I liked it better when it was June 28 to August 2. I have never been to a car show that lasted 36 days. I would have imagined that by, say, the 32nd day, the swap meet vendors would have been pretty well picked over.

(I used the search tool for 2020, Nationals, and a few others, but never found a thread on the 2020 Nationals. As soon as I posted one, it gave me a whole list of 'similar posts' all about the 2020 Nationals...)

Has anyone figure out how to make reservations? Online, the hotel only allows dates through the end of June 2020 and one poster said he called and was told they only book 10 months out by phone.

OCA requires the hotels to hold off on reservations until they officially go on sale at the prior year's Nationals. Once that happens, the info becomes available.

I just called the host hotel and they auto-routed me to their reservation call center. The customer service gal had no clue and said they weren't accepting reservations yet. I called back and tried to speak directly with someone at the hotel but was unsuccessful.

The host hotel is not supposed to be accepting reservations for the show before August 12.

Never attended OAC Nat's. Im planning on attending 2020 nationals at Murfreesboro. Going to make my reservations on 8/12 at the Embassy Suites. I can only do a couple of nights and wondered if Fri and Sat would be the best days to attend. Thanks for any info from you veterans.

Yes. Friday is the best day for any Nationals because that's judging day, and all cars need to be on the show field by 9 a.m. Most of the cars will be there Saturday, but not everyone stays for the Saturday banquet, so get there early Saturday if that's your only day. Wednesday and Thursday can be lesser, sometimes much lesser, depending on how many cars arrive Thursday afternoon for the Friday judging. I was at the Gettysburg meet on Wednesday afternoon and was surprised at how few cars were there. By Saturday, though, it was filled up.

Early in the week is better for whatever swap meet vendors are present as they'll still have most of their stock.

They are also NOT transferable to another person... The customer service individual I spoke with did not mention anything about not being able to depart early... Also, when my son was making a reservation, he wasn't even told there was a non-refundable policy, he had to call back to verify it and immediately cancelled it without issue and then made a reservation at the Residence Inn just down the road where there is no non-refundable policy...

Anyone know where the actual show is? If it’s at the expo center, that’s 4 miles from the host hotel. —Billy
