Is this normal? Vent window

There is a gap between door panel and window rubber. The panel appears to be tight against door. Thinking maybe window rubber? Brand new door panels from legendary. Thanks

It looks like the inside window sweep is too long. If no one's replied by tonight I'll look at my car and post a pic (Mines a 68). I assume yours is a 68 or 68-69 post

edit:
I just look at at a pic of mine and it looks like the vent window rubber fills the gap but the pic isn't a close up so I can't be sure. The inside stainless bead DEFINITELY doesn't extend past the vertical vent window stainless (my panels are Legendary as well)

Aftermarket parts sometimes need adjustments, looks like if you trim back that chrome bead it will fit like it’s supposed to. When you reinstall do that top edge first . The panel should hook over the top first then align the rest. Hope this helps....
After seeing post from rcorrigan5 , It looks like the bead is supposed to go in front on the vertical vent window bar but yours extends farther forward. Don’t cut or trim anything ! Does the other side have the same issue? Pull off both panels and look for that top bracket the panel is supposed to hook onto. If you have the old panels do a comparison , you might have the wrong panels for your model as others have stated.

Door panel could go back a little but the panel would be past the door edge on the back edge.

The inside window sweep on my '68 4-4-2 extends ever so slightly beyond the vertical stainless but not enough to pull the panel away from the vent window rubber. It just looks to me like your inside window sweep is interfering with the door panel being closer to the vent window rubber.

From far away, it looks as though you have a hardtop panel on a post car door. The panels are definitely different not to mention, not the same. Just looked at a picture of my W30 and the gap at the back of the door is half of what yours is. I don't have a picture of the vent window view on file..

There is a bolt-on tab/bracket that the door panel hangs on right under the vent window. If the panel isn't "latched" onto that bracket there will be a gap there because the bracket pulls the panel tight to the window. Check that first before trimming anything. I believe the bracket is slotted for adjustment in and out.

hhmmm, do you have a picture of this bracket, not awhere of it? I'm sure it's not on it. Not so sure the panel will pull in that much.
I'm a little upset with the fit of these panels for what they cost, thought I'd go with pre assembled from legendary.

The first picture in this post shows an area w/ a greenish/yellow line - that is the area the bracket mounts to. The bracket is the one on the right in the second picture in the post.

My car is not a post car, it could be different.

ok, so I found a bracket that looks like the one on the right, not sure which door it's for but I'm going to try it tonight.

This /\ /\ /\ is my bet. I might have a couple of these brackets laying around if you need one; This is a pic of the one on the passenger side. The driver's side is the same but opposite

The original kinda fits the same, must be the door is a little off?
