No power windows, power seat or door locks

Hi,

I lost the power windows, power seat and door locks on my 87 Toronado.

I checked the fuses and they are all good.

Any ideas?

Look for a dead relay. You’ll probably need a wiring diagram to figure out where and what it is.

Could also be a broken wire which feeds all those circuits, but I’d bet on a relay first.

Thanks for the info Chris. Any guess where to buy a relay?

Check the circuit breaker in the fuse box. The power windows definitely won’t work without that functional.

Does the dome light work?

A service manual would be a big help.

The relay should be common to your era GM’s, the trick is knowing which one to get. I can’t help you there since my cars are a lot older.

There are likely several relays, but probably only one to those accessory circuits.

Relays will have markings for contacts and also has numbers for i.e. Bosch, Hella and etc.

Isn't that about time electronic control modules started appearing? You wouldn't think they'd be used on high-current accessories but who knows.
