Adding power windows
Hey everyone. I have an 02 Silverado with crank windows and I want to get a set of doors with power windows and locks. How hard is it going to be to retrofit the truck with the windows and locks, or is it any big deal?
I would imagine it would be about the same job as on a car but with two less windows to worry about.
The power window doors also have speakers built into them, but that's for another time.
Thanks for any advice.

Hm you know I never considered that the truck would be wired for the windows already, probably ease of manufacturing. If the truck isn't to be built with power windows, the harness remains empty. I vote for that one.

I replaced a damaged door on a GM car years ago. The damaged one had power windows, the used one I picked up at the salvage yard did not. No harness in the used one, but all the mounting points were there to transfer over the power mechanism. I dont recall if the glass or other parts were intechangable. It did require 3 HUGE rivets that I had to borrow a rivet tool for, to secure the power mechanism in the door.
