Are my eyes lying to me or is this really a 98

I'm not ready to pick one up get but I am pretty sure my next project is going to be a mid 50's hardtop. For now I keep finding myself watching the ones that come on the market. This one says its an 88 but the back seems long to me. Is it just because its low and playing tricks on my eyes?

I don't know this era like some here but I am pretty sure that the auction car is an 88. The side trim and rear wheel opening are 88. Check out the '55 Olds brochure.

It is an 88 for sure. It is a plain 88 and not a Super 88 as evidenced by the 2-barrel carb and the lack of back-up lights. I think the 55 2-door hardtop is one of the prettiest cars of that period.

Thanks, I'm still learning the mid 50's stuff Olds had. I'm pretty sure I want a 54' Holiday when the time comes.
