I saw today that MotorTrend is ceasing their TV operations. I've seen a couple of their stars on Instagram saying they are done. They do have at least one more season in the can for selected shows and will air them. It seems like every company like this is scaling down or shuttering entirely. Sad to see them go.
I follow almost all the shows like Hot Rod Garage, Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, and Roadworthy Rescues. Over the last couple years I've met alot of the hosts and one hostess, Alex Taylor. They were all very nice and always put on a good showing.
I guess the "We're going to lose the shop!" model ran it's course. Or, it could just be that corporate ran it into the ground by creating the same shows over and over with spinoff after spinoff. Corporate kills everything.
Roadkill started going downhill when Dodge got involved, and i can't stand the Derek Bieri/VGG shtick, so stupid.
Motortrend spun off the video division to Discovery/Warner almost a year ago. Despite the branding, it was no longer run by Motortrend. This is unrelated to the (few remaining) magazines or Hot Rod Power Tour.
Yeah, I saw that and couldn't believe it. Granted, I had a bad feeling when streaming the shows switched from the MotorTrend app over to Discovery. Then it doubled down when Freiburger started pushing his YouTube. Sad to see them go, but thankfully they still have the YT channels.
Late to the party (as usual), I've only recently started to enjoy Roadkill and Roadkill Garage. This is my pattern; I find something I like and then it's gone.

All episodes are available on Discovery Plus. All new/remaining shows will be available there as well.

I agree with VGG. He was a normal guy in the early episodes who had good one liners. Somehow he turned into a cave man. The shtick ruins it for me.
I like the host of VGG. He's a good family man and isn't afraid to show it. This is what has been lost on America. First, all the men were made to look like idiots. This guy is far from that. Secondly, they disappeared. He is a good husband and father from the looks of things. He teaches his kids that hard work is a good thing that comes with its own rewards.
Burnouts for distance can only get you so far in the streaming world. Roadkill and others were fun to watch when they began, but eventually grew tired and in the TV idiom 'jumped the shark'.
He's a schmuck with a shtick. As more things come to light, it seems as though it was only the Hot Rod related shows? Motortrendtv is staying on, as Ian from Big Tire Garage announced a new season, or maybe it's just the new season airing. It's a shame because that was all I really watched. You guys can have the auction shows and Dick Rawlings.
Finnegan's YT stuff has really gone downhill; don't know what changed there. Tony Angelo's pizza team with a racing problem does some cool projects. Lucky's stuff is OK, but it seems like Frieburger is trying to be Brian Lohnes with the documentary style stuff.
I'm mostly YT these days, so motortrendtv can eat a bag.

I have a sentimental spot for Ian from the Jessi (RIP) days on Power Block. He's a helluva fab guy.
Ian Rousell from Full Custom Metal on Motortrend is a pretty good metal guy himself. I thought this was who you were speaking of. I have met Courtney Hanson from PowerBlock TV a few times at the MCACN show in Chicago. That show is this weekend. Greatest show on Earf.

Going for the third year in a row tomorrow. While I agree it's a great show, this will be my last year for a while. As much as I love restored muscle cars, you can only look at so many of the same car in different colors. I really enjoy the Barn Finds section, though

I'm with you on this. I remember the COPO Invite. Every car looked the same. Or what about the Boss 429 Invite? I have seen more COPOs than I care to mention. Same went for the Grand hall Exhibition of the 30 something out of the 40 something drop top Cudas and Challenger Hemi Cars. Now that I think of it. It was awesome! Remember the Fouranado? This is going to be great!
