Mice life’s matter

 

Opened the trunk on my BMW a couple of days ago, there in the middle of my perfectly clean vacuumed empty trunk, lied a what I thought was a mouse house. I cleaned up that mess and moved the car to another parking spot. Today there was another pile ,bigger than last time. This time I saw rat droppings, another major clean up with soap and water then Lysol. Tomorrow, rat poison will be added to the mix. .Tedd

 

That must be a thing in the frozen tundra of the north. I’ve never lived in an area where there were heated garages. We have the opposite, with air conditioned garages.

 

My house is part of the neighbor's barn cat's patrol. Haven't had a mouse problem in years. I am close to one of the furballs, his name is Jerome, and I pet him and check him for ticks in return for his patrolling. He likes to sit under my truck until it cools off in the colder months.

Cats are excellent controlling rodents. Both cats and mice have an exceptional sense of smell. The mouse smells the cats scent and the cat smells the mouse. Cats are also natural predators and mice are the prey. In addition to cats extraordinary sense of smell, cats have far better hearing and vision than humans. Cats can smell or hear a mouse that humans can't and vice versa. Usually the presence and scent of a cat is enough to keep mice from any area in which the cat occupies. Nature at work!!

In my prior post, post 29,, I mentioned that mice despise peppermint and cinnamon scent. Either or both scents will naturally repel mice.

 

try a 6 inch wide perimeter of powdered laundry soap. They won't walk on that or come close to your car.

 

bay leaves & cloves will do the trick !!
