Looky what i just bought

I just purchased a new Quadrajet. The box says it's a Champion remanufactured carb. The number on the carb is 7044213 DK 1884. It also cam with a Choke coil new in the package which looks kinda old.

Cool! Isn't that a Chevy Q-jet since the fuel inlet has a right angle in it? I have one but it is super old and needs a rebuild.

I was wondering about that too. My 67 425 q-jet has a right angle in the fuel inlet and I'm pretty sure it is original. I have also seen a 67 330 cutlass with the same right angle inlet on the q-jet. That car was found in a barn with 30k original miles so I'm 100% sure the carburetor was original. According to my Shell automotive spec guide, both of those carburetors are the Rochester "4MV". I'm pretty sure the q-jet on my 70 350 is original and it has the straight fuel inlet. According to the book, that carburetor is the Rochester "4MC". The fuel inlet might have been changed between the "4MV" and "4MC" models.

The chokes for these carburetors are also different. The "4MV" has a divorced choke whereas the "4MC" uses tubes to supply heat. There are probably other differences as well.

According to the following site it is a Quadrajet built in 1974 for a Chevy for a manual transmission:
