Put some 15 inch SS1 wheels and some proper looking stripes and I would drive the heck out of that.

Another nice Oldsmobile ruined. I hope like heck it was not a real 442 and W30. As Forrest Gump said, "stupid is as stupid does". This is just stupid. Somebody spent a lot of drug money on this one.

Ever see the stainless steel F_rds of the 1930s and '40s?

They would stamp a few out of stainless when they were done with the dies, and send them around for publicity shots.

Pretty darned cool.

What kind of paint is that? You can't chrome plate a fiberglass hood right? The paint might be cool on a smaller level for old trim peices that are not available or plastic dash peices.

I saw that '36 Ford yesterday at a car show in Sioux Falls, SD. It was originally a soft satin finish but was polished to a mirror finish by the previous owner from Arizona. The stainless panels were made by Ford for Allehheny Ludlum steel, the supplier of their stainless trim as promotional vehicles. They made 6 cars.

I saw that warning and it was issued due to racial reference given within, not from just calling it 'stupid'.
We have members of many different races and each one is welcomed. They should not have to worry about being profiled by other members.
So who might the 'pantywaists' be?

Thanks Rob. I may be more outspoken that I should once in a while but I am sensitive to race. My comment was and never will be racial. If somebody wants to call my car stupid, fine. It is their opinion and they are entitled to it.

That's probably the chrome effects paint. There is actually a process for paint to look chrome. I work for lexus and we re finish wheels in the body shop and what looks like chrome wheels are actually painted.

I had a response typed out, but realized it would probably get me another warning or worse. If you'd like to know what actually went on, you can PM me.

I don't think you can get a reflective finish with a wrap imho.

If you pause the video when he is walking around you can see orange peel. Not something you normally get with a wrap.

There is a few makers. We spray Sherwin Williams in our body shop and still cant seem to get it right so we sneaked in some other big major paint companies system that has been tried and trued . A lot of new wheels from car makers like lexus, Chrysler, Nissan have that chrome effect paint on their wheels.

I recall seeing an episode of one of the "builder" shows a couple years ago where they painted an entire Audi with some kind of chrome paint process. Very touchy, but their results were flawless (no orange peel). They had to spray it on a single panel at a time (don't recall the number of stages) and then water rinse it off within a few minute window.

Wow I don't know how the hell you can get a reflective wrap like that. That's actually pretty crazy. Kinda takes the wow factor away from the painted chrome. My only thing is I wonder how the pulled off the door jambs and all of the inner areas. I know most wraps don't go into those areas and it can be a real pain to get them to settle right into those areas.

I hear ya on the "Saturn Gold".....I have seen your car before on the web, in fact it was an inspiration for me to return my car to its original color. I am the third owner of this 1972 Cutlass "S" Oldsmobile, the original owners had it painted "Teal". Your olds is great looking.
