About a month ago, I had a local company make me up a new drive shaft, at that time I also replaced the rear yoke on my 1971 Cutlass Supreme.
The only problem is, I didn't know that you needed to mark the yoke bolt, I know that now, too late....leaking oil from the seal.
I'm hoping someone can help me out here.... don't wanna f*** it up any more than I already did.
Thanks.
Unfortunately you will have to take it apart again to replace the seal, also at this time check the yoke to verify that the surface which contacts the seal is not damaged in any way. Now, the tough part; I'm sure you don't want to completely disassemble that rear end but how can you be sure to get the correct preload on the pinion bearing without replacing the crush sleeve. One way is to get a shim washer, about .005 to .010 inches thickness to provide that little more crush. Maybe others have another solution and will chime in.
