Lawn equipment

So, is there an equivalent to Rock Auto for lawn equipment. I am not thrilled to pay 13 bucks for an oil filter for my riding mower.

I've never found a full 'Rock Auto' lawn equip place, but there are a lot of online stores that are much cheaper than factory parts. I've found OEM (just not branded with the equip branding) belts, pulleys, & such on FleaBay.

For your oil filter & other engine/mech parts, dig around a bit. I've frequently found that there's a cheaper common motorcycle/car part equivalent....

(Example: My ZTR mower takes a common Honda car oil filter. Much cheaper than the non-Honda OEM branded one..)

I would just google the filter part number or brand and part number. Probably turn up lots of places.

I don't know if they can save you on filters. Check these guys out.

I have an old lawnboy and they help keep it going. I tinker on friends stuff too. I have no trouble getting parts and it comes in about a week. Parts come out of Royse City TX.

If you have any Sears stuff, don't forget about http://www.searspartsdirect.com/

I usually use PartsTree, mostly because the prices aren't completely nuts, and they usually actually have stuff in stock.
A lot of places will list things in their catalogue, but show them unavailable.

Another one is ZACM.

It also depends on the make of your machine. I try to stick to older Lawn Boys, and there are a limited number of suppliers.

Believe it or not the local JD dealer beats the crap out of all the rest. I have a 3 blade 48" mower deck. Blades everywhere were 20 each. 7.99 at JD. A third of the cost. Most of the belts are 25-35 everywhere else JD 5-6-7-8 bucks for the good brown & green belts. The belts are India (at least not chineasium) the blades are good ole USA. My local NAPA doesnt do too bad with wix or NAPA gold filters. JD is cheaper though. The JD dealer here deals with everything from 22" push mowers to Combines.

Kohler 18hp. I see that several sites have the filters at half of what I paid, but the shipping wipes out the savings, they do have an unbranded $36 for 12 filters on Amazon, but I am leary of the quality...I would have a twelve year supply though!

wix 51056
napa 1056

short Kohler 1205001S
long Kohler 5205002

Both have the same thread size and seal size.
Always use the short version on zero turn or tight clearance.

Yep, Kohler 1205001s is mine, I crossed ref'd to the Wix to see what price that I could get. Home Depot had been cheaper than the dealer that I bought my rider from, but, they went up a couple of bucks this year.
