Just picked up 2 1967 Delta 88 HTs

Well i just got 2 more cars. 2 1967 Delta 88 2dr HT Dont get all excited look at the pics first. All i wanted was a motor when i first called the guy. But It was to good of a deal to pass up for both cars.

They both are 67-5887 bodys. UHC 2bl motors. th400 S/P trans.

One is rusty but complete and original (other then the radio) Black interior decent dash and cluster. Seats ripped but there. Door panels can be saved.

The other has alittle rust nice wheels and tires. But burnt up the interior driving down the road. The aftermarket stereo/wiring started on fire. So the interior is completely gone!!! Under the hood is fine and most of the exterior is fine. He picked up this one from his work. He worked for the tow company that picked it up. The owner abandoned it and never picked it up. He picked up the rusty one for parts

Worst case i got a couple 425s. But i wanna take the guts out of the one and fix the burnt up one. Im gonna look over both of them really good tomorrow. I posted this up on ROP and here. Im gonna have some extra parts. So if anyone needs any exterior or under the hood parts let me know. Heres the pics.

I looked in my book and it might be a missprint. But it said only 2,447 made. Does anyone have a way to look it up. body 67-5887 It would be a shame to let the both go to waste if they are rare.

Heres the burnt up one.

Sadly the burned car's top panel and dash seem to be buckled from the heat of the fire. Not an easy repair.

I got the other one going last night. Took some work. A few jumpers, unhooked some stuff, swapped car and points from the white car. I like it. I think this one is gonna get cleaned up and put in the burban!

The 2,447 is the number of '67 Delta 88 convertibles made. The number of '67 2-door hardtops made was 14,471.

My book isnt always right. It has had missprints Standard Catalog of American cars 1946-1975

It has the opposite. It says 14,471 convertables made.

I've heard the 14,000 number for convertible production for this year from several different directions, and I think they're all using that same source. My reference is "Setting the Pace: Oldsmobile's First 100 Years."

It would make sense that the convertible style would have the lowest production numbers for any model. That's pretty much always the case, and it would certainly be unexpected for there to have been 14,000 convertible Delta 88's made while there were only 2,400 hardtops for that year. Not saying it's not possible, just very much not what you normally see.
