My friend had a rambler for years. Ran like a sewing machine.

By todays standards I'm afraid its more Jurassic than classic.

Have pity for the poor old Rambler, they need love too.

At first quick glance, I thought it was 64 Cutlass, then quickly realized it said Rambler on the hood...

(sadly) In High School early 70's my friend had a 1965 (?) Rambler 220 6 cyc Flathead, 3 on the three, 4 door his father gave him - LOL
while my other friend had a 68 Charger R/T & I had a 69 GTO Judge - needless to say we didn't cruise around in his car very much.
He got hit Head On totaled at about 25 mph (other guy crossed the center line) and all survived though they were banged up with stitches and more ... car was really bent up and the amount of rust & rot on the street was hard to believe - obviously no one had seat belts on (if the car even had them)

One of the many jobs I had as a kid was working at a midas muffler shop. An old man (probably in his late 70's) came in with a 62 Rambler American for a muffler replacement under the warranty. We had car lifts that you put under the front and rear end that were controlled individually to make the whole underside of the car open for work. I went to lift the car a few inches and it made strange noises like it collapsing on itself. There was nothing left under the car but rot and rusty flakes gathering in a pile under the car, It couldn't be lifted. I had to go tell the poor guy that his muffler needed a new car and nothing more can be done.

My brother in law, Melvin, owned a Rambler in the 60's. He, my brother in law, removed and rearranged the letters to display the car's new name "Mel". Very creative and low key guy......
