Interior Project...all opinions appreciated

I'm actually getting quotes now from upholsters. I can't decide if it's cheaper to buy materials (seat covers, carpet, door panels, etc) and pay for labor only or just let the upholster do the complete job, material and all.

Has anyone ever heard of USA Parts Supply? They have interior packages. Their prices seem good......Any opinions?????

Since you have a Cutlass it might be cheaper for you to order seat covers from a supplier like Year One and then have an interior guy install the seat covers on your original seats. If you paid him to stich you new seat covers then he would have to get the material and assemble the seat cover before installing it.

I just had my interior redone for about $1500. The interior guy stiched and installed new covers.

I would guess you would save if you got the materials and did what you can by yourself, and let a trim shop do the work you do not want to do.
A shop will always mark up parts.

If you are doing your 71 vert, then I would get the stuff through Legendary - watch for 10-25% off sales and free shipping deals (more common in late fall and winter.) I missed the sales so I paid full prices...
Their stuff may cost a little more than PUI, but the quality is there.

If you are pretty handy, you can probably do it all yourself except for maybe the front (and rear?) seats. Then, expect about 300 front, 200 rear. The rear bench is somewhat easy...

Labor is expensive. The more you do yourself, the more you save.
Be sure to do the carpet yourself, in case you pull it all out and find rust to deal with. A trim shop might not help you with that, at least economically.

Take a look through this thread and see what is involved...

Also, attached is a price breakdown of my interior to give you an itemized idea...
Whichever way you go, keep us posted with results!
