Indianapolis get together II
anyone up for meeting at the Suds again this year? i would like to get up there this year again but not sure when. i will likely have to do it before September. we will be working OT at work that month. i am thinking mid to late August? i want to bring the Jetfire if i can get it done and trust it by then. anyone have a date that works best for them?
had a good time last year, maybe we can get more people this year.

Either day would work for me. Maybe the 25th so Eric can get his jetfire done? Maybe he can rent a car hauler and bring all his toys with him.
If you guys want to gather at my house a couple hours before I will provide donuts and soft drinks. Maybe 2:00ish? I am only about 15 or 20 minutes from the Suds. On a good night there will probably be 3 or 400 cars that roll through there.

lol, i only consider the Rallye, Jetfire and Blue W-30 mine. the others are only foster cars waiting for adoption.
the 25th would work best for me. how about mancutty and 317cutty? what day works best for you guys if you can make it?

I have contacted 5 or 6 people & hope to have at least that many cars here on the 25th. Any one else on this forum that has an Oldsmobile, or any other car they want to bring is welcome. We will gather from about 2 pm to about 4 pm & then drive to a local hang out for as long as you want. There will be many cool cars there, assuming the weather cooperates.
Please feel free to pm me, or give me a call so I know about how many to expect.
Thanks.
Scott

Just wanted to extend a big "Thank You!" to all who showed up today to share your cars & swap stories with the rest of us. I think there were 13 cars & 3 other guys came but their cars were under repair, or otherwise unavailable.
Got to meet a couple new faces & see some sweet cars & thanks to my awesome grandma, we all had some good food to eat.
One guy, Brian(creative Indy), had an exploding battery cable terminal, but a quick trip to O'reilly put him back on the road. Another guy(w30 dreaming) must have been flying in his rocket, as his speedometer cable finally gave up.
We had a good mixture of coupes, convertibles, 2 Vista Cruisers, & a car never seen before by most of us, Eric's (jensen racing) sweet '62 Jetfire.
Also had a few "foreign" cars, a '68 GTO convertible, '69 GTO convertible, & a '89 Corvette.
After a few hours of shooting the bull, we caravan'd to a local car hangout & all got to park right by each other.
Thanks again to all, we will have to do it again for sure.
Enjoy the pictures.

Thanks much for the hospitality Scott.
I had a great time,it was nice to put faces to board names and speak in person to other Oldsmobile people.
Your Grandma makes a great sammich and salad. Really enjoyed conversation with your Grandpa, his GTO is a great looking car!
Your pic from the rooftop is a great pic!
Suds is like nothing I've ever seen before,we have cruise ins and shows in my area but nothing like Suds. It's the only place I've ever been to where a person can sit down to enjoy a great chili dog and rootbeer while enjoying the cars cruising by and get a wiff of racing fuel now and then.My kinda place!
Having all our Oldsmobiles lined up in a row at Suds was cool!
It was a 340 mile round trip for me and loved every mile except my speedometer malfunction.I thought cruising the interstate at about 85 mph, keeping up with traffic, with my A/C going and jamming to an 8-track was a blast. Then after the speedo malfunction, the speedo was showing speeds between 110 and 120 mph really 75-85 mph.And at 75 -85 had alot of people passing me.
Thanks,it was a great time and can't wait for next year.

Looks like you guys had a great time. Hmmm, if I was driving down the back roads and saw this? I'd be stopping in to see if any were for sale!!!

Allan,
When I recently got married I got 4 great step kids in the deal also. My 2 bedroom house suddenly needed to have 5 bedrooms. We just did a major renovation on the basement & it now has 2 additional bedrooms & my "master" bedroom is now the back porch which a few weeks ago was the hot tub room. So, for a little while, the hot tub is sitting empty & lonely in the back yard till I get the time to find it's new home & refill it. In this picture, most of the guys are below me in the garage, trying to keep cool shootin' the bull.
I'm with you, if I saw this assembly of cars when I was out driving around, I'd be trying to buy something.

Ha! That's a great pic from the garage roof !!
I'll echo what others have said...
Thanks to Scott for his hospitality!
Meeting some who I've only known thru this board was fantastic and I could've talked to everyone for hours longer than I had time for...
A great group of people.
Here's some (crude!) pics of the departure from Scott's to the Suds....
Snaking out of the neighborhood....
In formation..
clicky for big...

I had an awesome time. The amount of combined knowledge there was simply amazing. The cars that were there were gorgeous. I didn't get to drive to the suds in the group, I had a battery clamp that were kapow. QUick trip to the parts store for a new clamp and some headlights made the rest of the night enjoyable. Outside of the hard to idle at lights the car was fun driving it around.
Can't wait to do this again sometime. Made some new friends and got to speak with some existing friends. Thanks again for hosting this Scott, and thanks to everyone to shared some knowlodge with me.
