It was an impulse purchase...

I didn't really need this, but I thought it was pretty neat old car. I guess before I get too far, what's a decent driver worth? The car runs great, with really good floor pans and trunk. I'm putting some carpet and a headliner in it, gonna clean her up, and hopefully drive it as much as possible!

A car is worth the amount you stroked a check for, the enjoyment value is priceless.

Ah, but she's a beauty !! I knew a guy about ten years ago who offered me his 65 Starfire with a rebuilt motor and those cool pipes out the quarters, for $3500. If you can believe it, I was too cheap to buy it. Still kicking myself over that one.
Yours is nicer looking, though.

Nice car! I've always been an Oldsmobile fan, even more so when I purchased my 65 Starfire a little over a year ago. The build quality, design, and fun to drive factor are hard to beat...you can't you lose with a torquey big block coupled to TH400. Enjoy!

Appreciate the comments. I was actually looking for a 60's ElCamino/Chevelle when I ran across this. We were down south a bit visiting, and my wife's cousin knew someone about an hour north with the Jetstar1. "What's a Jetstar?"...."It looks like a giant mid sixties Cutlass". Cool, I gotta look at that! So, I end up dragging it out of the hills of Eastern Kentucky, down a twisting road about two inches narrower than the trailer wheels, with a couple "what the heck was I thinking" moments, lol! Got it home safely, and have been cleaning on it here and there, and assessing what I'm going to do with it. Most of the clean up so far has been removing what appeared to be 30 year old window tint. What an improvement, now I don't feel like I'm looking through a pair of purple sun glasses! Sure is a big car, but you can't beat the sound of a big Olds motor!

With some creative bodywork, that can be one hell of an El Camino type thing.

Something like this? I rolled it outside for a few days, that turned into years. Someone bought it last spring, but I hadn't checked the progress. My favorite was a 65 GTO/ElCamino, but I'm afraid the pic's may be long gone.

Looks great. Pan being done is a major plus! Looks like a perfect find. Can always flip it to get that preferred ride. Some one is jonesing for that ride.
