Identify EVAP part. 70 Cutlass
Looking to identify where these hoses go and what the unit is. It has three hoses connected to it labeled PCV, Fuel tank and air cleaner. The air cleaner line is disconnected and I have no idea where it goes. Help would be appreciated.

That's all I have. I checked 1969/1970 PIM manuals but not same. During this period of time is when EPA standards/requirements for fuel vapor emissions became mandatory. Based on whether the vehicle did or did not have A/C, and the size of the engine the routings demonstrated subtle differences. Someone else may have a better diagram. Good Luck.

Here is a (search) list of threads/posts for "canister" - you might find something on your faster....it's a start in the right direction if you're waiting on another member to post a better diagram. Good Luck. Be mindful you need the 1970 vapor canister hose routings applicable to your engine size and configuration e.g. A/C.

Here's an interesting thread you might read. The deal is this...CA emissions required the vapor canister in 1970...some of the other states maybe not so much....other states were being brought on-line w/ emissions controls during 1970-1971 model years. Add to this, there was a difference in the routing for a 4-speed manual vs. an automatic (at least in some CA vehicles). It's a modest kludge determining which is which during this time frame and gets gnarly trying to find this stuff in the PIM & CSM because most of these pages of each were already in print, about to go into print, pages were canceled then updated, blah, blah, blah. Have fun.

To my point regarding these canisters and in particular CA cars. If someone was addressing a concourse restoration for a CA vehicle, they'd prefer the exact model/style/type vapor canister employed in the state of CA.

Finally (I think), the 1970 CSM should demonstrate the routing of the hoses (hopefully you own the 1970 CSM). Look in the area of the CSM which demonstrates the fuel tank hose routing - you'll see (or should see) the one vapor canister hose from the fuel stand pipe (in the back of the rear seat) - I think!
