Ideas or tips for mounting a fire extinguisher

Not long ago I let the National Street Rod Association saftey team inspect my car. The car passed with flying colors with the exception of a fire extinguisher.
The gentleman suggested mounting an extinguisher in an area that it can be accessed while sitting in the driver seat while exiting the car.

My goal is to keep the car looking factory stock.A fire extinguisher would detract from that appearance.

Any tips, ideas or suggestions for mounting a fire extinguisher that would be hidden or out of site and still be easily accessible?

thanks

I keep a small extinguisher under the seat, wedged in with a couple rags to keep it from rolling around. But I've got a manual-adjust bench seat, so I don't know if that will fit under another type of seat. I also keep a larger extinguisher in the trunk, it sits in the spare tire wheel.

Agreed. Under the seat would be best so as not to detract from the stock appearance.

I had mine mounted along the passenger side of the tunnel, below the console.I used a mount that had those hole and slot mounts, push over the hole and slide. It was small enough that it didn't cramp the passenger at all.For any show,I just slid it off,and you couldn't see the mounting studs in the carpet. You could also do this in front of the drivers seat, sideways.Just move the seat to where it would be in the position you drive the car. ---bil

+1 for velcro
I just used a strip of self adhesive male velcro on the can itself and it sticks to the carpet perfectly!!

Are those f/e refillable? After a while say a couple of years if they are not used they have no pressure. At least that has been my experience.

You could be like the ricers and put in on the "A" pillar

I would do under the seat as well

Thank you very much for bringing this up with a link included. I've been avoiding this issue because I am not wanting to drill any mounting holes anywhere.
Velcro to the carpet may be the way to go.
Right there if you need it during crusing and then easily removed without a trace for show

Keep in mind that using the hook side of velcro directly to the 80/20 loop carpet can cause damage to the carpet if removed (pulled off) often. I found out the hard way on my new carpet. It can be repaired but it is something you do not want to do often. Use the least amount of velcro and remove as little as possible. With a FE, you hope to never have to pull it off to use it....

It would be more of a fuzzy, puffy spot to start, then you mow it down with scissors. Repeat enough times, and it would become bald...
