IBM codes for 1962, Where did they come from?

I am expanding this question from the Jetfire forum where Don posted this link below. I had never seen this before and for a couple years trying to figure out a code on my cowl tag, This link shows what the code is.

Here is the link to the site that shows some 1962 IBM codes. Who runs this site and where did the IBM codes come from? Is this something the GM Heritage center would have? I would like to get a real GM document with these codes on them and not just the website I linked to. Does anyone know of a real GM document that was scanned and is posted on the net somewhere?

That could be. I don't know anything about the IBM system. The code on my cowl tag is 384 and till now I had no idea that it means 4-speed Synchromesh. I knew this Jetfire was original but just had no way to prove it. I would just like to get a GM document instead of a website to back up my cowl tag. These people had to get this information from somewhere.
