From the pictures and description I do not see a $100,000.00 car here.

He states that the car has Michigan Rust - which is bad, 45 year old interior and the top has rips. How is it even worth the $69,100 that is currently bid??????

The bids have to be fake, reserve not met so no harm in having freinds bid on it to spark interest...

I painted this car about twenty-five years ago. It's never been restored only repainted. The owner has taken very good care of this car and it is what it is. An honest, well cared for, forty-five year old car. ~BOB

Is that YOUR paint job, Bob?

It's still showing extremely nicely.

What do you guys think a #1 W-30 rag should go for?

Depending on the issues with the rust, the car may be properly priced for the market.

A once beautiful car that's been neglected. Depending on how deep the issues go it could fetch some serious money, though. I'm also inclined to be suspicious of that $69K bid. In its current 3- condition that would be all the money in the world for that car.

Give it a week or two at Thornton's though ...

Not a concourse car, but, as I recall, in '70 and '71
there were only 115 (plus or minus) W-30 convertibles built (each year).
Seems to me, the rarity, as well as the desirability,
would give this car a lot of value even if it's not flawless.

The similar years are 1971-72, with 110 and 113 built, respectively.

But rarity is one part of the equation because the more popular 1970 version (264) is worth more due to the high-compression motor.

Yes. The owner has always garaged this car and it still looks great. ~BOB

Love the color! it's something you can drive and enjoy and not worry too much about. Not a trailer queen like most of these rare cars have become. Life is too short for that!
