I need some info on a speedo cable
I need some info on a speedo cable
I need a person that really knows delta 88's
hi I wondering if someone could help me with some thing? I need to get the length for a speedo cable for a 1966 delta 88. the cable runs to the drivers side tire. I'm having someone make it but it was already removed when I got the car.
thanks
Steve.

I have no idea, but I found this on RockAuto...
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,1440
Says "W/cruise; Length Inches 38". Does the photo look familiar?
If in doubt, why not get some heavy gauge wire that you can shape and run it from the speedo to the wheel hub, with nice gentle bends, to get an idea of the length that would work?

With "cruise" you need two separate cables - one from the wheel to the unit, one from the unit to the speedo. Without "cruise", the one cable goes from the wheel to the speedo. I don't happen to have that measurement. I assume you know there is a special end at the wheel. It threads into the spindle and the end extends thru the spindle and is driven by the dust cap. At one time, they were available at "Canuckcars Vintage Car Parts". I don't know if they still are.
