This took much longer then I had thought it would, but thanks to rktolds the search is over.
the crazy thing, but good for me, is that it was right here in Texas.

thank you. I am lucky on this one for sure. this hood is rust free, but has a small dent near the front, in the center. One cool thing, it has been in storage for about 30 years, and still has the original insulator on it.

I had no idea these hoods were so hard to come by, it seems that the 68 hood is more prone to rust then any other year.

Glad you were able to make a deal on that hood. It sounds like he has a few things for sale. Can't wait to take a look.

Does the original insulator have a 4" round hole cut into it that fits over the rad cap when the hood is closed??

Here is one that is pretty close to me. Not a 442 hood though but in decent condition. I could go by and get more pics if someone is interested.

Congrats! That will save both the costs and risks of shipping one across the country.

Thanks John. You know, after a search like this, I was expecting to pay out the nose for a rust free hood. I think I did good at 350.00
These 68 442 hoods are scarce in this condition.

Thanks for the reply, in case anyone wonders why my 442 has a hole in the insulator.
