How to tell date on intake manifold??

Hi all,

How do I tell that date on an intake manifold. And the difference between engine size.

Thanks!

Have you tried Google? Assuming you're asking about an Oldsmobile intake manifold? If at any time you want to narrow this down to the year & model it may assist someone in helping since there have been just a couple of engines and intake manifolds over the past 124 years & it's very difficult to guess what you're looking for. This may help....

Many years ago Chris (Octania) made a thread where he posted photos of different years of intakes. I just spent some time with the search function and couldn't find it! To the OP if you still can't key it out with the link posted then take some pictures of it to share here. Someone will be able to tell you what its off of.

WildAboutCars also lists information regarding intake manifold numbers with accompanying photos.

You should be able to find the information you're after under the Intake Manifolds 1964 - 1990 heading of the link I provided (above) @ oldsjunction.

So is the "2v & 4v" mean 2bbl & 4bbl?

Thanks

So your real question is how to tell a 1970-72 intake? That's not the same as the date code.

1970 Casting No. 404520.

1971 Casting number 407565

1972 Casting number 410446
