How to change mast of power antenna

Does any one know how to change out the mast of a 68' rear power am antenna. I just found another setup and just want to change out the mast.

I don't know for sure, I do know that most power antennae operate by winding a nylon filament like fishing line only large gauge around a spindle on a motor. One end it attached to the spindle, the other to the top inside tip of the antenna, if the filament has broken or become un-attached at the top I don't know how to fix that, or to install a new mast.

I think the only way you can repair a power antenna is by replacing the entire unit. I suppose there is a way to repair the actual motor or mast, but for the average hobbyist the best bet is replacing the entire unit.

Check out Fusick, Kanter, and Year One for parts. They might have what you need.
