The Hot Rod Power Tour is coming south this year, starting in Bowling Green KY on June 9 and ending at ZMax Dragway/Charlotte Motor Speedway on June 15. Be great to have a plethera of Oldsmobiles making the trip.

I'm going, in a Chevrolet; my Olds is still a project.

My old man and I are going to take his dad's Monte Carlo and try to do the whole thing. He's 73, the car is a solid #3 car that will need paint and minor resto someday, so I figure it's a good time for him while he's still moving around well, the car, my work, and the geography relative to Evansville.

I'll be there in my 68 Cutlass S convertible. Planning to long haul it. I did the week in 2014 as well.

I'll probably take in the events at B.G since it is close to home. Looking forward to seeing all the cars.

Anyone else?

Life is short. Try to overcome the daily grind and get out and enjoy.

Need to bolt my newly mounted new tires on and flush the radiator, install new wiper blades. Everything else is done. Leaving Sat for Bowling Green.

I applied a liberal dose of rain-x to complement the not so fantastic wipers.

I have an extra set of blades that will fit your car.

Power Tour blues

My friend Steve Ladd's freshly finished $65K 70 pro tour Camaro. First day, first leg... some googan in a truck rear ended him on interstate 40. He's unhurt but damn that sucks....

Wow that's horrible. Glad all were ok. Yes, fully understand careless idiots in other vehicles.

Sure looks like a significant speed difference. Glad he's OK.

That's too bad. Glad he was not hurt. How does someone not see a bright orange Camaro?

I was told that the large group of cars had gotten off the back roads and on to interstate 40 to do a leg. Several cars had pulled over on the shoulder to let the others catch up. He was last in line and the truck just barreled right into him. Knocked him into a beautiful Dodge Dart also.
Im headed 125 miles to Bowling Green KY for the Holley/NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in my 442 this week. Makes me nervous about driving...

My 442 is safely back in the shop after 2616 uneventful miles, very nice to meet Shifter Sidney in person, quite a few Oldsmobile’s were on the tour, and at least 3 Vista Cruisers..
Our 4th time, we’ll be ready again in ‘20....with a few more mods.

My father and I and our 72 Monte Carlo made it back to Evansville after ~2050 miles. Ran AC the first day down to Bowling Green, and the rest of the days were cooler. Car did well, but ran a little warm, and threw some oil, especially coming down the mountains today on I-40 on the way home. I should probably do the valve cover gaskets and rod out the radiator. Lots of people liked it, even the Johnny Lightning guys who photoed it for possibly doing a model if they pick it.

Saw a few 442s, a few Vista Cruisers, a few Cutlasses. I will put up some pictures soon.

I didn't meet a lot of people since my dad stayed put due to his back. It was good to do it with him, but I don't think we'll do it again.
