Here's a unicorn

Not one, but TWO Olds V6 diesel motors. The interesting part is that at least one of them appears to have most of the serpentine drive system intact. Also note that these are the RWD version with the BOP bellhousing as opposed to the FWD version with the 60 deg metric bellhousing.

You know if you could adapt one of those for an agricultural use like running a pump or a generator it would probably last forever.

Actually, I've been wondering if it would be possible to convert one to gasoline and make an Olds V6 gas engine. The problem is that unlike the DX motors, you can't just bolt an Olds gasoline head onto it. You'd have to cut up and furnace braze a V8 head, which has been done before but it isn't easy. Then you'd need to fabricate an intake and cobble up a distributor or crank-fire ignition system. The block does have a distributor hole, however.

Think of the boost you could run. Build a GN killer Cutlass.

Just for grins, here's a similarly fabricated head for a Ford inline six made up of sections from 351C heads. Note that it was built by none other than C.J. Batten.

Interesting. What vehicle (and years) would these have been OEM for?

The LT6 RWD version was used in 1982-84 G-body cars.
The LT7 FWD version was used in 1982-85 A-body cars (Cutlass Ciera, Pontiac 6000, etc)
The LS2 FWD version was used in the 1985 C-body cars (Ninety Eight et al)

I've only ever seen two in person, one in a G-body Supreme at the 2009 OCA Nationals and one in another Supreme that came to one of our All-GM shows in MD about 10-15 years ago.
