This sort of thing is silly. Who cares?

If we were talking about 2010 model year models, that would be different. These would be new-to-the-market vehicles that are being evaluated for the first time.

But these cars have been around forever. What's changed in any of them that would cause a ranking like this this year to be different from one five years ago or 25 years ago? This sort of thing is put on to get people to visit the Hemmings site and maybe subscribe.

I'm sure we can go find an issue of Motor Trend or Road and Track or whatever from back in those days where a similar poll was conducted or where the magazine did their own ranking. Why not just go with that.

Jim lives about 15 minutes from me.

I was checking that Rallye out on Saturday.

It is nicer than nice.

The bottom is cleaner than 99% of new cars......

For me, this is an interesting thought pattern. The only reason I can gather, other than the obvious point Jaunty noted (To get people to visit the site/purchase a subscription) is the stance and paint scheme of these old cars. Many have incredible body work and paint as well as different "stances", which cause them to look at least somewhat different than the originals. Of course having said all that, wasn't the winner a year or so back a dull brown 442 w/ dog dish hub caps?

The Oldsmobile Family Truckster

Found this on AOL today. Seems like the Toro Olds should have made!

This is for sale on ebay, too.

I was thinking about this thing. I wonder how well it handles. After all, a significantly heavy camper has been added to the REAR of a front-drive vehicle, thereby shifting an even greater percentage of the vehicle's weight away from the drive wheels. I bet this thing would get stuck easily in the winter.
