I'm a bit confused. I can't seem to find what holds the distributor in place. The manual says loosen the clamp and pull it out, but I don't see the clamp. I have a spare engine as well and don't see anything on there as well. How in the world do you adjust timing, let alone remove the distributor?

The clamp should be at the base of the distributor on the drivers side, bolted to the block...if you don't have a clamp then you need one...without the clamp, the distributor might turn randomly...it should rotate freely to adjust the timing- if it doesn't turn it is stuck and you will have to free it up...

They usually take a 9/16 socket..Distributor wrench or getting creative with extensions that swivel would help
