Hemmings Muscle Machine of The Year 2011
Hemmings Muscle Machine of The Year 2011
OK, this has really blown me away! I just got an e-mail that my 70" F-85 W-31 is one of 13 finalists for the Hemmings "Muscle Machines Car Of The Year Award" for 2011!!!!
WoW is this for real or what. I am so humbled to recieve such aknowledgement for this car! It has really been........... what can I say, but unbelieveable the reconignition for the Olds marque and the level of restoration of this car that I completed. I am just speechless. ( I know, me speechless?), I am sooooo humbled...................... I feel due to the fact that the original owner was a Nam Vet ( who returned to Nam after driving the car for 4 months and was killed in Nam, in July, 1970) like me, is some ..... well payback to how we were treated back then.......we were just doing our job, defending our constition, our right of freedom, our way of life...............God bless our fallen troops and may they have not died in vane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for the people who helped me and contributed NOS items to help me complete this restoration and make it look, "like it was just delivered to a dealership". Thank you Bob and Carlos at CarShine Restorations in Eaton Rapids, MI, Olds guru Joe C., my best bud Bruce, and the others who know who you are, who helped send me free items to make this restoration what it is! Gezzzzzzs I never thought this would happen, even if I do not recieve the votes to win, just being a finalist is a winner!
Thank you all,
dave b.

Thanks for the heads up Dave. I had this magazine, but hadn't yet opened it.
C'mon mods, make this a sticky so all can see it and get Dave's car all the votes we can.
