Some help please. Getting down to the final phase of
tear down of my ‘70 W30. These shocks look original to my car. Could they be a factory installed option ? If so, the option code ? If not, can someone identify them ? Thank you.
There was an option for the "super lift" air shocks it was G66. On the dealer order form it says "recommended for towing" & M40(turbo 400) required. They are shown in the '70 assembly manual. If factory you should have a decal on the inside of your glovebox door showing proper inflation specs & you'll have the valve stem for filling mounted to to rear bumper behind the rear license plate.

Rear air shocks were factory available under RPO G66, a $42.13 option on the 442 that year. There was also a dealer-installed package and a Superlift kit available from the parts counter. Factory air shocks did not come with those stickers on them. Those are Delco aftermarket. It is unlikely that the shocks are original after half a century.
Factory Superlift shocks looked like this:
The dealer-installed version and the Superlift kit from the parts counter looked like this. Note the decals do not look like the ones on your shocks.
Did the rear air shocks help improve 1/4 mile et’s ?
Air shocks CAN help with counteracting engine torque effects on the rear suspension, but that requires you to run separate fill lines for each shock so you can fill them differently. If they are plumbed together, then that's just for cargo loads.
